Lovers Key

Having missed the club weekend at Lovers Key in July, Turbo & I decided to make the trip in September. Many of our club members joined us and for some it was a return trip. One couple, Dawn & Jack Studevent who recently moved to New Orleans, flew down to be with us. It was great seeing them and catching up on old times as well as new.

They promised to join us on future events when they can.

Dolly Wolf (yellow bug eyes) drove from Melburn for some R&R and to take advantage of the great shelling opportunities on Sanibel & Fort Myers Beach.

Weather was perfect clear & sunny at Lovers Key while back on the east coast reports of lightning and storms confirmed we chose the right weekend for our journey.

September seems to be the perfect time to be in Fort Myers Beach. Most tourists have left and restaurants and shops are grateful for our business. At the resort, the breakfast room was empty, pool and spa were missing the splashing & noisy kids to disturb the tranquility.

We are seriously thinking of switching our annual club trip to September on a permanent basis. Another reason to go in September is the fact the room rates are lowered for the month of September only.

Saturday night we had a wine, homemade sangria, and assorted snacks back in our room, watched some football, followed chatting on the balcony into the wee hours under the stars.

Turbo & I enjoyed the weekend so much that we played hooky from work on Monday & stayed one extra day. Life is good.
