Ann Kobe Nature Center 2009
Ann Kobe Nature Center
Early in December, club members Roz & Brian Sherf hosted a hand made quilt show held at the park in the Ann Kolb Nature Center in Hollywood. They supplied food and refreshments, as well as giving everyone a choice of a free gift & fresh rose. I myself cannot sew on a button or hem a skirt, so I am in awe of the folks like Roz who has so much talent. The quilts this year were amazing, with a wide variety of subjects and designs. I have never visited the Nature Center, and arrived just in time to go to the top of the tower to have an uninterrupted view of a spectacular sunset. Once inside you can check out glass cases of Florida wildlife in their natural settings. Shells, fish, tanks, flora, and much more are on hand with interesting descriptions and the history of our local area. There was no charge for admission for the show, and it was a pleasant, interesting, and informative evening. I have purchased a few quilts from Roz in the past, for myself and for gifts, and still treasure them. If there is ever another show again, I recommend you go & check it out.
