Natures Day Out 2010
Natures Way Out
Sunday March 21st, eighteen club members met up in Boca to drive to GREEN CAY NATURE CENTER located on Hagen Ranch Road in Boynton Beach. We had a chance to get in touch with natural settings you could have experienced before the land in Florida was developed. Calm, peaceful, serene, and magnificently beautiful was what the Green Cay Nature Center brings to multitude of visitors during the year. We navigated the interior of the nature centers wetlands on a series of boardwalks winding a few feet over the grounds and water. Every turn brought another splendid sight both above the marshes and swamplands, found in the numerous varieties of trees, plants, and ground patches, and wetlands. Of course, what would the day be without getting just a little off track in getting to the nature center. I have now come to believe it is simply part of how we travel, and it adds an added interest to the day’s event. Fresh air and a long walk have been known to stimulate ones appetite for sure, so on to our next stop for lunch. Club member Art Caira, who was our travel guide on the drives in the area, arranged a lunch at a local Italian restaurant named Mamma Mia. Tables set in the back room for our members were a welcome sight. The service was excellent, along with our food selections, and very reasonable prices. I hope you all enjoy the photos from our members, and next year when I arrange a return trip to Green Cay Nature Center; more members can join in the extremely interesting day’s event. Be sure to enjoy the photos.
